T-Mobile TV…Actually Not That Bad

Overview- So you have a T-Mobile phone and you see all of the apps that are pre-installed on your phone.  While some of them are helpful, some might not serve a purpose for you.  It’s disappointing carriers don’t you to uninstall these apps without rooting your phone, however some can actual be good such as T-Mobile TV.

What’s Great- Well for one it actually works and the content is pretty good.  You can find full shows on here from a variety of networks.  There are music channels and live TV channels you can watch as well.  Content ranges from news, sports, adult, to kids.  You can star certain channels and shows as well.  It also tracks what you have recently watched so you can rewatch something if you started it, but were unable to finish.

What’s Not So Great- The live TV is a little choppy, even on WiFi. I don’t know how much more you can expect, but just be aware.  Even though the content selection is good, shows are missing.  The biggest thing is the service cost $9.99 a month.  With NetFlix and Hulu offering the same services for cheaper, the value of TMO TV is up to you.  Being able to have all your content one app is very cool and the setup is easy.  If you didn’t have cable being able to watch ESPN is awesome.

What Could Be Improved- In my opinion its just to much money. For $4 more I can get more movies and tv shows with subscriptions to NetFlix and Hulu.  That being said this does offer different content.

Overall- TMO TV is an interesting preposition.  It definitely isn’t a bad service or app.  You just need to decide if paying $9.99 is worth it for the content.  I know I don’t do much video viewing on my phone so if I were to subscribe to this I would want an option to be able to get it onto my big screen TV.

Similar- Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, any other video/TV streaming service

Availability/Pricing- The app has a free 30 day trial and then it is $9.99 after.  It is available on all T-Mobile devices and is coming to the app store soon.
